Halloween at the London Dungeon

The permanent show turns its dial up for the fortnight, which mostly means more actors and longer queues. Runs 17 October to 1 November, from 27 pounds. Book a slot.

What to expect

Ninety minutes of London’s grislier history, played by live actors, with two rides in the middle. It is a show rather than a museum and it is pitched at laughs as much as at fright, which is worth knowing before you take anyone expecting history.

Worth knowing

It runs all season rather than only at Halloween, so it never quite sells out, and the queues are longest in the middle of the afternoon. Under-fifteens need an adult with them. Not recommended for under-tens whatever the website says.

Getting there

Under County Hall next to the London Eye, so the queue tangles with three other attractions. Waterloo and Westminster are both five minutes. The South Bank page has the rest of what is on nearby. Everything we list at this address is on the The London Dungeon page.
