Hans Zimmer in London: The World of Hans Zimmer at The O2

This is the touring show Hans Zimmer curates and serves as musical director for, not a Zimmer solo concert: The O2’s own page is careful to say he shapes it even when he is not on stage himself, so do not book expecting him at the piano. Matt Dunkley, the orchestrator and conductor who has worked alongside him for years, leads the Odessa Orchestra and Friends and the Nairobi Chamber Chorus, with soloists drawn from the players Zimmer records with.

The scores are reworked into longer orchestral suites and played against projections, which suits an arena better than a straight run of themes would.
