Directions

What to expect

Mozart’s Don at Covent Garden, Kasper Holten’s production, which opened on 10 September and runs to 15 October. Gordon Bintner takes the title role, with Rachel Willis-Sorensen, Aigul Akhmetshina, Roberto Tagliavini and Bogdan Volkov, and Stefano Montanari conducts.

Worth knowing

The first night on 10 September began at 6.30, and every later performance starts at 6.45pm. There is not a show every night: the run plays 14, 16, 19, 21, 24 and 29 September and 2, 7, 12 and 15 October. It runs about three and a half hours including a thirty minute interval. Sung in Italian with English surtitles. Suitable from about eight.

Prices

12 to 306 pounds across the run, with Young RBO prices on selected performances. The cheap seats are real seats rather than a consolation, but they go early.

Getting there

Covent Garden and Holborn are both a short walk, and Charing Cross is not much further if the piazza is heaving. For what else is on within walking distance, see Covent Garden. The Royal Opera House page collects every listing we hold for that address.
