Directions

What to expect

Ava Pickett’s new play puts Helen of Troy back in her own kitchen. Years after she walked out, she comes home from a war fought in her name: her husband is celebrating, her childhood friend Cee is not, and over one fragile night of peace the loyalties come apart. Michelle Dockery plays Helen, Laura Aikman plays Cee, and Lisa Spirling directs her first show as the theatre’s artistic director.

Worth knowing

Two hours including the interval, age guidance 14 and over, with frequent strong language and references to sexual violence. On 4 October the theatre’s own booking page had Wednesday and Thursday evening sold out and everything else on limited availability or last few seats. The Saturday matinee is audio described.

Nearby

Stratford has the nearest stations and everything else on in the same part of town. The Theatre Royal Stratford East page collects every listing we hold for that address. Filed under Theatre.
