Cahoots London: the 1940s bars in Carnaby and Borough

Cahoots runs three 1940s themed bars in London, two in Carnaby and one at Borough Market. Which is which, the addresses, and the nights with live music.

A cocktail on the counter of a dimly lit bar

Cahoots is a 1940s theme done properly rather than as wallpaper: the rooms are built as places rather than decorated as ideas, and the staff stay in it. There are three in London and they are not the same bar three times, which is the thing most listings get wrong.

The three, and which one you mean

Checked on the venue’s own site on 9 September 2026. People searching for Cahoots Underground usually mean the original, and it is the one built as a disused tube station.

Cahoots Underground: 13 Kingly Court, Carnaby, London W1B 5PW. The tube-carriage room, off Kingly Court in Soho.

Cahoots Ticket Hall: 5 Kingly Street, Carnaby, London W1B 5PF. A few steps away and a different room, built as the ticket hall to the Underground’s station.

Cahoots Postal Office: Unit 205, 18 Stoney Street, London SE1 9AD. The Borough Market one, and a different postcode, a different neighbourhood and a different evening from the two in Carnaby.

The nights with live music

This is where the three separate properly, because the programme is per venue rather than shared.

Underground runs live music and cocktails on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7pm, and a Saturday afternoon session, Bootlegger Breakout, from 2pm. Postal Office takes the other end of the week: live music every Thursday from 8pm to 11:30pm, and every Sunday from 7pm to 10pm.

A Sunday evening with live music is rarer in London than it should be, and Borough is the one doing it, which is worth knowing when the rest of the city has gone quiet.

Booking, and what to expect at the door

Book rather than arrive, particularly at the weekend in Carnaby, where Kingly Court fills from early evening. The theme extends to the drinks list and to how the staff talk to you, which is either the whole appeal or entirely not, and it is worth knowing which you are before you go.

The bars run occasional network-wide offers, and at the time of checking an Espresso Martini Exchange was running until 15 November across all three.

What else is around them

Both Carnaby rooms sit inside our best bars in London patch, and Soho covers what else is on within a few streets. For Borough, Borough Market is the daytime half of the same trip.

Cabaret in London covers the rooms with a programme rather than a playlist, and after dark lists what is still on when these shut.

Questions people ask

How many Cahoots bars are there in London?

Three. Cahoots Underground at 13 Kingly Court W1B 5PW and Cahoots Ticket Hall at 5 Kingly Street W1B 5PF, both in Carnaby, and Cahoots Postal Office at Unit 205, 18 Stoney Street SE1 9AD by Borough Market.

Which Cahoots has live music?

Both, on different nights. Underground runs live music and cocktails on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7pm plus a Saturday afternoon session from 2pm. Postal Office runs live music every Thursday from 8pm to 11:30pm and every Sunday from 7pm to 10pm.

Do you need to book Cahoots?

It is advisable, especially at the weekend in Carnaby, where Kingly Court fills from early evening. All three take bookings through the Cahoots site.

This guide is rewritten rather than refreshed, and everything named in it is checked against the venue's own page. Times and prices change; where a listing links to a venue, that link is the one to trust. How we choose what goes in.
