What to expect

Bamboo Mat’s second London room is at 1 North Lane in Canary Wharf, and its own restaurants page says only that it is opening soon: no date, no booking. The first is at East Village in Stratford, open daily, and the company describes the two as one kitchen at two addresses.

The cooking is Nikkei, the Japanese and Peruvian crossover: a raw bar, a robata grill, tasting menus and pisco sours, in their own words Japanese knife technique cut against Peruvian ingredients.

Worth knowing

There is no opening date, no menu for this room and no bookings yet: the booking page takes reservations for East Village only. We read this off bamboo-mat.co.uk and will put the date here the day it appears. Note that this is not the Soho opening reported in the trade press in September 2026, which the operator’s own site has never carried.
