What it is

1-54 is the fair for contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora, held at Somerset House every October since 2013. This is the fourteenth London edition, and this year adds a spotlight on Modernist artists from Africa and the diaspora.

The hours

Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 October, 11am to 7pm, closing at 6pm on the Sunday. The Thursday morning is a VIP and press preview.

Why it is the easier one

Somerset House is a building you would visit anyway, it is a short walk from Covent Garden and Waterloo, and the fair fits into a single wing rather than a field in a park. Tickets are booked through the fair’s own site.
