Directions

What to expect

The British Museum opens its major exhibition of the season on Thursday 1 October: Korea, which tells the history and cultural life of the peninsula through its objects, from ceramics and Buddhist sculpture to painting. It fills the Joseph Hotung Great Court Gallery until 31 January 2027.

When to go

The exhibition keeps the museum’s hours, ten until five from Saturday to Thursday, and stays open until half past eight on Fridays, which is the time to go if you want the gallery quieter and the evening free after it.

Tickets

It is ticketed and timed. The museum’s own exhibition listing has advertised early bird tickets from £14, under 16s free with a paying adult and two for one for students on Fridays, but its site turns away the kind of check we run, so we have not been able to confirm which of those still applies. Read the price on the museum’s booking page before you go rather than trusting a figure from us.

Dates, hours and the gallery were taken from the British Museum’s own exhibition listing on 27 September 2026.

Bloomsbury has the nearest stations and everything else on in the same part of town. The British Museum page collects every listing we hold for that address. Filed under Exhibitions.
