Free Saturday 24 April 2027 to Sunday 25 April 2027
London Marathon
Free to watch anywhere along twenty six miles. Cutty Sark at mile six and Tower Bridge at twelve are the loudest; the Mall is ticketed grandstands and a wall of people.
Confirmed by the organisers: for the first and only time the marathon runs across two days, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 April 2027, with 100,000 runners.

What to expect
Fifty thousand runners over twenty-six miles from Blackheath to the Mall, and the best free spectacle in the London calendar. The elite fields come through early; the great mass of fundraisers, costumes and club runners takes the rest of the day.
Worth knowing
The famous spots are packed three deep by nine. Bermondsey, Rotherhithe and the stretch through Wapping are easier and just as good, and the runners are more grateful for noise there. Bring a pen and write on a sign: the ones with names get the loudest reaction. Crossing the route is nearly impossible for hours, so stand on the side you need to leave from.
Getting there
The DLR and the Overground run along much of the course and are the way to move between points. Central stations near the finish are at their worst from about two. The Greenwich page has the rest of what is on nearby.
