Directions

What to expect

The oldest civic procession in the world, running since 1535: three miles of floats, bands, livery companies and the Lord Mayor in a gilded coach, from Mansion House to the Royal Courts of Justice and back, with fireworks over the river at the end of the afternoon.

Worth knowing

Free from the pavement along the whole route. The procession passes twice, out in the morning and back in the afternoon, so a spot you cannot get at eleven may be easy at one. St Paul’s churchyard is the best free vantage point.

Getting there

St Paul’s, Mansion House and Bank all sit on the route and all close to traffic. Come early and expect to walk.

Nearby

The City has the nearest stations and everything else on in the same part of town. Filed under Seasonal.
