BBC Proms 2027: dates, tickets and how to get in for £8

What Promming costs, how to get in on the day for £8 even when a concert has sold out, and when booking is likely to open for 2027.

An orchestra performing in a concert hall

The Proms run from the middle of July to the second Saturday in September, nearly every night, at the Royal Albert Hall. The 2026 season ran from 17 July to 12 September, with the Last Night on Saturday 12 September. The 2027 programme is published in April and the pattern will be the same. This page is the standing guide, and during the season the list below is rebuilt every day with what is on tonight and whether there are still tickets.

When 2027 tickets go on sale

Nothing for 2027 is on sale, and the BBC has published no 2027 dates yet. What it published for 2026 is the timetable to plan around: the programme came in April, Season and Weekend Promming Passes went on sale at 9am on Thursday 14 May, and general booking opened at 9am on Saturday 16 May. Booking fees are 2 per cent of the total plus £2 a ticket, capped at £25, and there is no fee at all if you book in person at the Royal Albert Hall. We check the BBC’s own ticket pages and put the 2027 dates here the day they appear.

How to get in for £8

Promming is the point. Standing tickets in the Arena or the Gallery cost £8 including the booking fee, are sold on the day, and exist for every concert, including the ones that sold out months ago. The BBC puts around 1,000 standing places in the Arena and Gallery for each Prom at the Royal Albert Hall, and you can book up to two online from 9.30am on the day. They are unreserved, so you choose where you stand when you arrive. A limited number of seats at the back of the Arena, and in the Choir or Gallery, are kept for Prommers who cannot stand for a whole concert, and those are booked at royalalberthall.com.

For the nights everybody wants, prommers still queue at the hall rather than trusting the 9.30am release, and returns for seated tickets appear on the Royal Albert Hall website right through the season. The Arena is the better view and the Gallery the better acoustic, and both are better than the cheapest seat.

Which nights

The First Night and the Last Night are the ones people know and the hardest to get into, and the Last Night is not sold like the rest: the BBC sets out how those tickets are allocated when it announces each season, so treat any other account of it as out of date. Promming places are still sold on the day. The good nights are the ones in between: the late-night Proms that start at ten, the big orchestras from abroad in the last fortnight, and the one or two each year that everyone talks about afterwards. When the programme lands we mark the ones to book and the ones to prom.

The hall

South Kensington is the station; High Street Kensington is a nicer walk through the park in summer. The bars are slow and the interval is short, so drink before. Concerts end by ten most nights and the late Proms by midnight, and the District line home is easy.

Our rule for this page

During the season this page is checked every morning against the BBC’s own listing for that night. Out of season it carries the dates, the ticket timetable and the way in, and the ticket facts here were read on the BBC’s own pages rather than taken from anywhere else.

Questions people ask

When are the BBC Proms 2027?

The 2027 dates are published in April. The season always runs from the middle of July to the second Saturday in September; 2026 ran from 17 July to 12 September, with the Last Night on Saturday 12 September.

When do BBC Proms 2027 tickets go on sale?

Nothing is on sale yet and the BBC has announced no 2027 date. In 2026 the programme came in April, Promming passes went on sale at 9am on 14 May and general booking opened at 9am on 16 May, which is the shape to expect.

How much is a Promming ticket?

£8, including the booking fee, sold on the day for every concert, even the sold-out ones. There are about 1,000 standing places in the Arena and Gallery, up to two each, bookable online from 9.30am on the day and unreserved when you get there.

What do the booking fees add?

2 per cent of the total plus £2 a ticket, capped at £25, on anything booked online or by telephone. Booking in person at the Royal Albert Hall carries no fee.

Can I get Last Night of the Proms tickets?

It is the hardest night of the season to get into and it is not sold like the others. The BBC publishes how those tickets are allocated when it announces the season, so check its ticket pages rather than an older account. Promming places are still sold on the day.

What time do concerts finish?

Most by ten, the late-night Proms by midnight. South Kensington is the station.

Every listing on this page is checked against the venue's own page and the page is rewritten each year, usually six to eight weeks before the dates. Times and prices can change on the night; the venue link on each event is the one to trust. How we choose what goes in.
