Guides Chelsea in Bloom 2027 Mon 17 to Sun 23 May Updated 25 Sep 2026
Chelsea in Bloom 2027: the free flower show on the street
The free one. Around 150 shopfronts on Sloane Street and the King's Road turned into floral installations for Chelsea Flower Show week. No ticket, no ballot.

While the Chelsea Flower Show charges to get in and sells out, the streets outside put on their own show for nothing. Around a hundred and fifty shops, restaurants and hotels between Sloane Square and the King’s Road build large floral installations across their frontages, and you walk round them at whatever pace you like.
It bills itself as the largest free flower festival in London, and on volume of flowers per street that is hard to argue with.
When it runs
The 2027 dates are not announced yet. It wraps the Chelsea Flower Show week every year, and the Flower Show is confirmed for 18 to 22 May 2027, so expect roughly 17 to 23 May. The 2026 edition ran 18 to 24 May. Treat the window on this page as the usual pattern rather than a confirmed date, and check the organisers before you plan a trip around it.
Where to walk
Start at Sloane Square and work up Sloane Street, or come in at Knightsbridge and walk down. The King’s Road carries the rest. The displays are outdoors and permanent for the week, so there is no opening time to miss and nothing to book.
When to go
Early morning if you want photographs without people in them, because by mid afternoon on the Saturday the pavements outside the better known installations are three deep. Weekday mornings are the quiet version. The flowers are at their best in the first half of the week: by the closing weekend the heat and the handling have taken a toll on the more delicate builds.
The paid one
The Chelsea Flower Show itself is ten minutes away at the Royal Hospital, on for the same week, and needs a ticket. We have written that up separately, including which days are members only.
Dates and events for 2027 go in as venues confirm them. The guide above is what we know so far; it is rewritten as the list fills.

Questions people ask
Is Chelsea in Bloom free?
Yes. The installations are on the outside of shops along public streets, so there is nothing to book and nothing to pay.
When is Chelsea in Bloom 2027?
Not confirmed yet. It runs alongside the Chelsea Flower Show every year, and that is 18 to 22 May 2027, so expect the week of 17 to 23 May. The 2026 festival ran 18 to 24 May.
Where exactly is it?
Sloane Street and the King's Road, with the surrounding Chelsea streets between them. Sloane Square and Knightsbridge are the two tubes to aim for.
Do I need to book?
No. It is outdoors and on all week, so you turn up and walk.
Is it worth it if I am not going to the Flower Show?
Yes, and it is the better option with children or a pushchair: no ticket, no queue at a gate, and you can leave when you have had enough.
Every listing on this page is checked against the venue's own page and the page is rewritten each year, usually six to eight weeks before the dates. Times and prices can change on the night; the venue link on each event is the one to trust. How we choose what goes in.
