Kew Orchid Festival 2027: what it is and whether it is worth the ticket
A month of orchids in the Princess of Wales Conservatory, early February to early March. Included with Kew admission, and the warmest room in London in winter.

Early February to early March, in the Princess of Wales Conservatory. Thousands of orchids arranged around large plant sculptures, on a theme that changes every year and is usually built around one country’s flora and culture.
What it costs
It is included with standard admission to Kew, so if you were going anyway it is free. If you were not, you are paying Kew’s admission for it, which is worth knowing before you travel.
Why February
The conservatory is heated and humid, which in February is the entire point. It is the warmest and least grey hour available in London that month, and the reason the festival exists in winter rather than in a season when things flower outdoors anyway.
Going
Weekends are busy and the conservatory is not large, so it is one of the clearer cases for a weekday morning. Kew runs late openings on some evenings during the festival, with the glasshouse lit, which is a different experience and usually needs a separate ticket.
Dates and events for 2027 go in as venues confirm them. The guide above is what we know so far; it is rewritten as the list fills.

Questions people ask
When is the Kew Orchid Festival 2027?
Early February to early March. The 2027 dates have not been announced; in 2026 it ran from 7 February to 8 March.
Is the Orchid Festival included with Kew admission?
Yes. It is inside the Princess of Wales Conservatory and needs no separate daytime ticket. The evening late openings are ticketed separately.
How long does it take to see?
An hour is enough for the conservatory itself. Most people make a half day of it with the rest of the gardens.
When is it quietest?
Weekday mornings. The conservatory is small and weekends fill it.
Is it worth it in bad weather?
It is one of the few London attractions that is better in bad weather, because the whole thing is under glass and heated.
Every listing on this page is checked against the venue's own page and the page is rewritten each year, usually six to eight weeks before the dates. Times and prices can change on the night; the venue link on each event is the one to trust. How we choose what goes in.
