What to expect

The Albatross opened on 7 September 2026 at 8-10 Old Jewry in the City. It is a British seafood pub from Wild Group, George Bukhov-Weinstein and Ilya Demichev of Goodman and Beast, with Chris Dunlop and Alice Tayler running the pub and Chris Piorkowski, formerly of Goodman, as head chef.

Shellfish is kept live in tanks. The menu runs from smoked mackerel toast, Devon crab toast and seared scallop with burnt butter to roasted sea bass, pan-seared turbot with beurre blanc and a chicken schnitzel. A pint of Guinness or pilsner is £6 and cocktails are £12.

The website gives dinner from 5pm to 10pm on weekdays, with drinks from 3pm, and publishes no weekend hours, so check before a Saturday visit. Tables book through the pub’s own reservations page.

The details here come from The Albatross’s own website, checked on 16 September 2026, and from Hot Dinners and The Morning Advertiser, which reported the opening on 24 August and 2 September 2026.
