Burger and Beyond Soho: the Old Compton Street one, and the other four

Burger and Beyond has been going since 2015 and now has four restaurants plus food hall counters. Where the Soho one is and how it differs from the others.

A burger served on a plate

Burger and Beyond started as a street food stall and is now one of the few London burger names that people travel for rather than settle for. Checked on the venue’s own site on 9 September 2026. It has been going since 2015.

The Soho one

10 Old Compton Street, London. That is the middle of Soho, a minute from Cambridge Circus and squarely in the pre-theatre and post-pub belt, which is what makes this branch different from the others in practice rather than on the menu.

It takes bookings, which for a burger restaurant in Soho on a Friday is worth using rather than chancing the door.

The other restaurants

Shoreditch, 147 Shoreditch High Street, which is the one nearest the original. Borough, Arch 231 Borough Yards, under the railway arches by the market. And outside London, Brighton, 56 Ship Street.

So four sit-down restaurants, three of them in London, and the Soho and Borough sites are the two that work best around something else you are already doing.

The counters, which are a different thing

Alongside the restaurants there are counters inside food halls, doing the same food in a quicker format without table service. One is open at Fairgame, One New Change in the City.

Several more are listed as coming soon rather than open: Camden Lock Market, Fairgame Canary Wharf, Box Hall at The Arcade by Liverpool Street, and Two More Years on Fish Island. Worth checking before travelling to one, because a coming soon on an operator’s own site can mean next month or next year.

Around the Soho one

Pre-theatre dinner in London covers eating to a curtain-up deadline, which Old Compton Street is built around, and Soho covers what else is within a few streets.

Bun House is a few minutes away in Chinatown and is walk-in only, and after dark lists what is still open afterwards.

Questions people ask

Where is Burger and Beyond in Soho?

10 Old Compton Street, London, in the middle of Soho a minute from Cambridge Circus. It takes bookings, which is worth using at the weekend.

How many Burger and Beyond restaurants are there?

Four sit-down restaurants: Soho at 10 Old Compton Street, Shoreditch at 147 Shoreditch High Street, Borough at Arch 231 Borough Yards, and Brighton at 56 Ship Street. There are also counters inside food halls, which are a quicker format without table service.

When did Burger and Beyond start?

2015. It began as a street food operation before moving into permanent restaurants, which is why the Shoreditch site is the one closest to the original.

Is Burger and Beyond open at Camden Lock or Canary Wharf?

Not yet. Counters at Camden Lock Market, Fairgame Canary Wharf, Box Hall by Liverpool Street and Two More Years on Fish Island are all listed as coming soon rather than open, so check before travelling. The Fairgame counter at One New Change in the City is open.

This guide is rewritten rather than refreshed, and everything named in it is checked against the venue's own page. Times and prices change; where a listing links to a venue, that link is the one to trust. How we choose what goes in.
