Roof East: the Stratford car park rooftop, and when it shuts for winter

Roof East is a summer rooftop on floors seven and eight of a Stratford car park, with crazy golf, batting cages, bowling and a cinema. Prices, ages and the closing date.

A rooftop bar with a city skyline behind it

Roof East is on the seventh and eighth floors of a multi-storey car park in Stratford, which is exactly as unpromising and exactly as good as it sounds. Games, a bar, a rooftop cinema and a view over east London off a stairwell.

It is seasonal, and it closes for winter on 27 September 2026. Checked on the venue’s own site on 9 September 2026. That is the first thing to know, because a great many listings describe it as though it were open all year, and from the end of September it is not.

Where it is

Floors 7 and 8, Stratford Multi-Storey Car Park, Great Eastern Way, London E15 1XE, a few minutes from Stratford station. The Washington Post called it Stratford’s place to be, which for a car park roof is a fair result.

The games and what they cost

Priced per game rather than as an entry fee, so an evening costs what you choose to play.

Birdies crazy golf: £10 an adult, £5 for under 18s, £13 for a family ticket of one adult and one child, age 3 and over. That is the one that takes children, and it is the cheapest thing up there.

Arrows, the darts, is from £12.50 for two to six players, age 14 and over. Sluggers, the batting cages, is from £15 for one to six, 14 and over. Glitter Bowls, bowling with the lights turned into a disco, is from £12.50 for two to six, 14 and over.

Then the free ones, which is unusual for this kind of place: Jumbo Topple Blocks, Cornhole, Beat The Bar and ping pong.

The rooftop cinema, and the age rules

Rooftop Cinema Club runs on the roof through the season, with its own listings and its own booking, so check the film separately rather than expecting to find it on the Roof East programme.

Under 18s are welcome at weekends and on bank holidays only, and only until 5pm. After that it is an adult venue and the door runs Challenge 25, so bring identification if you look anywhere near it. Families should plan for the afternoon rather than the evening.

If it is shut, or you want the winter version

From late September this one is gone until next summer, which is when the indoor competitive rooms take over. Activity bars in London covers them and what each one costs, and Clays is the closest in shape with three London sites open all year.

Rooftop bars in London covers which rooftops are covered, heated or open through the winter, and London at night covers the rest of the evening.
