El Pastor Battersea: the Power Station one, with a terrace open all year
El Pastor at Battersea Power Station has a covered, heated terrace that runs through the winter, a Diego Rivera inspired mural and tortillas made daily from heirloom corn.

El Pastor is a family of Mexican restaurants built out of the decade its founders spent in Mexico City, and the Battersea one is the riverside member of it.
Checked on the venue’s own site on 9 September 2026. Unit 21-22 Circus Road West, Battersea Power Station, London SW11 8EZ, with Battersea Power Station on the Northern line as the nearest station.
The terrace is the reason to pick this one
It is covered and heated and open all year. That is unusual enough in London to be the deciding fact: most terraces in this city are a summer proposition and a locked door from October, and this one is not.
The room itself pays to the site’s industrial history with a wall-sized mural inspired by Diego Rivera’s public artworks, which is a more interesting answer to a power station conversion than exposed brick and Edison bulbs.
Opening hours
Monday to Friday, midday to 10pm. Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 10pm. The weekend hour earlier is for brunch, and a 10pm close seven days is consistent, which around Battersea Power Station is not a given.
Reservations and walk-ins are both welcome, and the restaurant is fully wheelchair accessible, which the operator states rather than leaving you to telephone and ask.
The food, and what the group is
Tortillas are made fresh daily from heirloom Mexican corn, which is the detail that separates this from most Mexican restaurants in London, where the tortilla is bought in. Tacos and tostadas, tequila and margaritas: spicy, breakfast, classic or frozen.
There are four El Pastors, at London Bridge, King’s Cross, Soho and Battersea, plus a bar called El Siete. Private dining at Battersea, with views of the Power Station, takes 8 to 24 guests.
Making a night of it
Battersea covers what else is on around the Power Station, and things to do for couples covers the two-person version of the evening.
Rooftop bars in London marks which terraces are covered or heated, which is the same question this page answers for one of them, and best bars covers the drink afterwards.
