Eataly London: the Italian market, the restaurants and the terrace
Eataly London fills a Bishopsgate building with an Italian market, restaurants and a cooking school, and it opens at 7am on weekdays. What is inside and when to go.

Eataly is a category of one in London: an Italian food market you can shop in, eat in and take a class in, all in the same building, and it is open from seven in the morning.
Checked on the venue’s own site on 9 September 2026. It is at 135 Bishopsgate, London EC2M 3YD, which puts it a short walk from Liverpool Street.
The opening hours, which are the useful part
Monday to Friday, 7am to 11pm, last entry 10pm. Saturday, 9am to 11pm, last entry 10pm. Sunday, 9am to 10pm, last entry 9pm. Bank holidays, 9am to 10pm.
Two things follow. A 7am weekday opening is unusual for anything of this kind and makes it a genuine breakfast option in a part of London that mostly does coffee to go. And the last entry is an hour before closing, so arriving at half past ten on a Friday means not arriving at all, which is the mistake worth avoiding.
What is actually in there
Three things sharing one roof, which is why people are unsure what Eataly is.
The market is a shop: pasta, oils, cheese, wine and the rest, and it keeps the same long hours as the building. The restaurants are separate rooms with separate kitchens rather than a food court, among them Pasta e Pizza and Terra, and each takes its own bookings. The cooking school runs classes and is booked ahead.
There is also a terrace, Terrazza, run with the Umbrian brewery Birra Flea. Rooftop and terrace drinking in the City is thin on the ground after the offices empty, which is the gap our rooftop bars guide covers.
Going for the evening rather than the shopping
Most coverage treats Eataly as a daytime errand. The hours say otherwise: eleven at night, six days a week, is later than most of the restaurants around Liverpool Street manage. Book the room you want rather than turning up and choosing, because the restaurants fill separately and being inside the building does not get you a table.
Dogs are not permitted in the store, service animals excepted, which the operator states plainly and few people think to check.
What else is within a walk
Eastcheap Records is the City’s live music room and runs to 2am from Thursday to Saturday, and Wagtail is a rooftop on King William Street with a late licence. Horizon 22 is the highest free view in the City but shuts early, so it is a before rather than an instead.
Leadenhall Market and St Dunstan in the East are both free and both close by, and food and drink events lists what is on.

135 Bishopsgate, London EC2M 3YD, a short walk from Liverpool Street station.
What time does Eataly London open and close?
Checked on 9 September 2026: Monday to Friday 7am to 11pm, Saturday 9am to 11pm, Sunday 9am to 10pm and bank holidays 9am to 10pm. Last entry is an hour before closing on weekdays and Saturdays, and an hour before on Sundays, so arriving late means not getting in.
What is inside Eataly London?
Three things under one roof: an Italian market you can shop in, several separate restaurants with their own kitchens and bookings including Pasta e Pizza and Terra, and a cooking school. There is also a terrace, Terrazza, run with the brewery Birra Flea.
Do you need to book at Eataly London?
For the market, no. For the restaurants, yes, and each one takes its own bookings rather than there being a single desk, so being in the building does not get you a table. Cooking school classes are booked ahead.
This guide is rewritten rather than refreshed, and everything named in it is checked against the venue's own page. Times and prices change; where a listing links to a venue, that link is the one to trust. How we choose what goes in.
